Myeongdong ECO House

Myeongdong is the well known main tourist site in Seoul, and always picked up on guide books. It is also the most famous shopping site with various cosmetic shops, clothing, duty free shops, etc. The area is always filled by people throughout the week and is the spot where travelers most gather. Therefore, there are many hotels and guesthouses in Myeongdong area.

Located directly across from the main alley of Myeong-dong Street, Eco Guesthouse is at a good location just a short walk from the Myeongdong station subway line 4. The guesthouse is the 5-story building with the front desk at the basement floor and guest rooms are in 2F-5F. The distinct characteristic of Eco Guesthouse is that all the rooms are ondol rooms.

 

There are 4 rooms in each floor and they are all ondol room. Size and layout of the rooms differ depending on room numbers. All the rooms are equipped with toile, shower room, TV, closet and storage cabinet. Shelf, futon and atmosphere of the rooms suggest the old Korean tradition. Tapestry and tissue paper box cover are also made from Korean traditional materials.

 

2 PC with internet connection are at the halfpace between 2F and 3F. Tea set, paper cups and water purifier are equipped in each floor. Bread, juice, milk etc are served at the basement floor in every morning.

 

At Eco Guesthouse, fire extinguishers, flashlights and smoke detectors are equipped not only at the hallway but also in each room. Corridors are wider than the standard stated by Fire services Act of Korean law. Eco Guesthouse is the guesthouse with the secure disaster prevention, giving top priority to guests’safety.
